I "added place" to a few sites in Italy, where I had lived for many years. It was great to be able to provide my own tags, share information, and post it to this site.

23 Things Assignment #7

Podcasting is fairly new to me. Podcast Alley has an extremely large directory of podcasts. It was difficult to choose from the many I scrolled through. I did subscribe to four new feeds and added them to my bloglines account.

For work, I subscibed to New York Times Book Review ; Sam Tanenhaus, editor of The New York Times Book Review, discusses this week's issue, and Uncontrolled Vocabulary ; A live interactive discussion of current events in the world of libraries and librarians.

For myself I subscibed to ilGiornale.it - I commenti audio ; Spunti di riflessione, approfondimenti, sguardi originali sulle notizie di politica e attualità, and Foglio volante ; Il notiziario culturale di Rete Due.

23 Things Assignment #6

Working with Online Office Tools was easy and very interesting. I opened a Gmail account and had absolutely no problem login on to Google Docs. I can see this being useful when collaborating on documents with staff at other locations. I was very happy to use the many formatting tools. Spell check is another useful tool I will definitely use. This is too much fun!

23 Things Assignment #5

Tagging and Social Bookmarking can take quite a bit of time. I found this assignment a bit of a challenge, and difficult to set up. However, I did manage to register, and create an account on the Delicious (del.icio.us) bookmarking tool site. I have added favourite tags to my post, and also a web page related to Italy to my del.icio.us account. I do see the importance of this, and find that accessing my bookmarks on any computer can definitely be useful.

23 Things Assignment #4

Time for a break ...................
The generators were great fun; I especially liked the Blues Name generator, which names me "Howlin'" Eve Bell.
Using "Big Huge Lab" was quick, easy and alot of fun.

Pictured below; one of our favourite librarians, Nancy Pearl. When she's not hard at work shushing patrons in the library, she is promoting and celebrating the written word around the world. Packing in her suitcase only the dewey decimal system!

Learning about RSS and Newsreaders was very interesting and new to me. After setting up an account with Bloglines, I subscibed to the following RSS feeds:

• iTunes top 10 Songs

I know this will be useful; I will be up-to-date with topics I enjoy.
